Respectful Relationships and Sexual Education

Respectful Relationships and Sexual Education

This school year, the teaching staff is engaged in a specific training programme on relationships and sexual education, a fundamental area for supporting the holistic development of our children. This initiative stems from our commitment to rethinking how we educate about emotions, the body, relationships, and diversity to foster a respectful, conscious, and needs-based educational approach.

Committed to a respectful and transformative relationships and sexual education.

We want every teacher at our school to have a solid foundation for addressing affectivity and sexuality with respect, care, and sensitivity. This training is part of our educational commitment to care, well-being, and the integral development of every child.

The training, led by specialists Elisenda Pascual and Laura Ferrer, both recognised experts in the field of sexual education, offers valuable spaces for reflection and learning. Through eight sessions tailored to different educational stages, we combine theoretical content with practical dynamics that help us rethink our approach, share experiences, and enrich our teaching practice.

The topics addressed cover a wide range of essential themes: respectful treatment and the dignity of children’s bodies, emotional management, abuse prevention, bodily changes, pornography, social media influence, and affective and gender-based relationships, among others. These topics arise in the school’s everyday life, and we are committed to addressing them both specifically and cross-curricularly, adapting them to each stage of development.

We understand that relationships and sexual education is not the sole responsibility of the school. That’s why we work hand in hand with families, keeping them informed, sharing criteria, and building a coherent and safe approach together. The family-school dialogue is essential to ensure that children receive clear, positive, and healthy messages about their bodies, emotions, and relationships.

Relationships and sexual education invites us to maintain an open mindset, reflect on our educational practices, and continue learning collectively as an educational community. It presents an opportunity for growth both as educators and as an institution, always prioritizing the well-being of our students.
