Jocs Florals 2024: art & words

The event saw the participation of numerous individuals on Sant Jordi’s Day in a commemoration of Joan Salvat-Papasseit, resulting in an acknowledgment of the literary achievements of our students.

They were honoured with awards for their exquisite poems in both Catalan and English, accolades for their beautiful artwork and recognition for heartfelt Pensaments expressed. All students were featured prominently on stage through recitals, dances, and songs.

Salvat-Papasseit’s influence was pervasive throughout the event as students recited his poems and sang a rendition by Lluís Llach; they also recited a poem by Antonio Machado and sang a Bob Dylan love song. Little ones danced to the rhythm of “Dansa Ara”and sang a song by Dàmaris Gelabert, while the older ones closed the celebration with a song from Cantània 2024.

Families were deeply impressed by the literary prowess displayed by our students.

In memory of Rosa Maria Martí, a beloved teacher and friend who instilled a deep appreciation for poetry within our school community.
